What an awesome venue for live music!
Totally impressed by the staff, everyone was friendly and helpful, especially the security who took
care of the crowd surfers.
The patio area outside is a great place meet friends and inside the A/C was cool and the bathrooms were immaculate. This is my new favorite spot to see shows in Phoenix!
The Van Buren brings big city concert energy right into Phoenix’s heart, making it a standout live music venue even for Gilbert locals. The stage production, lighting, and acoustics are polished and powerful, creating immersive performances whether you're at the front or farther back. The venue blends vintage architectural charm (from its 1920s showroom past) with modern amenities, giving it character and functionality. Drink lines move efficiently, crowd flow is manageable, and the vibe always feels charged but welcoming. For seeing major acts in an intimate-sized space, The Van Buren rarely disappoints.
I’ve been to this venue a few times in the past few years and I enjoy it; I like it more than the Marquee. The acoustics are good and it’s a well run and clean venue for being a little on the smaller side. My only gripe is that there is no on-site parking; the last time we came here we parked at the large parking garage by the Arizona Financial Theater and it was only a few-minute walk. There is a large outdoor area you can go and hang out if you need a break from the concert inside and it is misted during the summer, and it looked like there’s a pizza place attached to the venue which is a nice option. It also looks like there’s a balcony you can go sit at though I think it costs extra. Lastly, though it comes as no surprise to most being that the venue is located in downtown Phoenix, the area is not the best and you may see some shady and questionable people, so attending events here alone can be a questionable decision.
